This Privacy Policy explains how Dr. Anup Itihas G B, Consultant Pediatrician & Neonatologist, Mangaluru, Karnataka (Karnataka Medical Council Reg. No. 120066) — referred to as “we”, “us” or “the clinic” — collects, uses, and protects your information when you use this website and our WhatsApp-based booking and video consultation service (together, the “Service”).
Information we collect
- Contact details — the parent/guardian’s name and WhatsApp phone number.
- Your child’s health information — name, age, sex, and the symptoms, reports, photos, and other details you choose to share for the consultation.
- Booking & consultation records — appointment dates and times, consultation notes, and prescriptions issued by the doctor.
- Payment information — payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive confirmation of payment (amount, status, reference ID) but never see or store your card, UPI, or bank credentials.
- Messages — your WhatsApp conversation with our booking assistant, used to manage your booking and route follow-up questions to the doctor.
How we use your information
- To schedule, confirm, conduct, and follow up on consultations.
- To issue digital prescriptions and share them with you on WhatsApp.
- To process consultation fees and, where applicable, refunds.
- To send appointment reminders and service messages related to your booking.
- To maintain medical records as required by law and medical-council regulations.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers needed to run the Service:
- Razorpay — to collect consultation fees securely.
- Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) — to exchange messages with you on WhatsApp.
- Google — to create the Google Meet video link and calendar entry for your appointment.
- Our secure database and hosting providers — to store booking and consultation records.
Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy and appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose information where required by law, a court order, or a regulatory authority.
Children’s information
Our patients are children, so we necessarily process health information about minors. This information is always collected from and managed by a parent or legal guardian, and is used solely for providing medical care.
Data retention
Medical records and prescriptions are retained for at least three years (or longer where the law requires) in line with Indian medical record-keeping norms. Booking and payment records are retained as required for accounting and tax compliance.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in access-controlled systems. Only the doctor and authorised clinic staff can access your consultation records.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information (subject to our legal obligation to retain medical records) by contacting us using the details below. We honour the rights available to you under applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
